Simplification
Always keep in mind the ‘BODMAS’ rule. These operations have priorities in the same order as mentioned.
Multiplication & Division have the same priority. Do that operation first which is on left.
Addition & Subtraction have the same priority.
Don’t hesitate in rounding the numbers to nearest integers.
Always look at the options before doing simplification that can help in the elimination of options
Follow ( ), { } and [ ] while solving for brackets.

Important
formulae:
•(a
+ b)2 = a2 + b2 + 2ab
•(a
– b)2 = a2 + b2 – 2ab
•(a
+ b) (a – b) =
a2 – b2
•(a
+ b)2 –
(a – b)2 = 4ab
•(a
+ b)2 + (a – b)2 = 2(a2 +
b2)
•(a
+ b + c)2 = a2 + b2 +
c2 + 2(ab + bc +
ac)
•(a3 + b3) = (a + b)(a2 – ab + b2)
•(a3 – b3) = (a – b)(a2 + ab + b2)
•(a
+ b)3 = a3 +
b3 + 3ab(a + b)
•(a
– b)3 = a3 –
b3 – 3ab(a – b)
•(a3 + b3 + c3 – 3abc) =
(a + b + c) (a2 + b2 +
c2 – (ab + bc +
ca)
•If a
+ b + c = 0,
then a3 + b3 +c3 = 3abc
